How long have you been at INSPIRED?
Just over six months now!
What is your current role?
I’m Talent Acquisition Manager International, leading recruitment across our entities in France and Poland. My role goes beyond recruitment: I work closely with managers to understand their needs, bring more consistency to our processes and support informed hiring decisions. I’m also working on strengthening our local employer brand, from how we position INSPIRED in the market to how we attract and engage talent, while keeping this aligned with the Group’s wider ambitions.
It’s a great challenge, particularly in a period of growth and change, where I get to work both on the day-to-day and on building things for the longer term.
What attracted you to join INSPIRED?
It actually started with the job description! It was detailed, clear and gave me a really good sense of the role and the challenges ahead, which immediately made me want to apply. The recruitment process was also quick and straightforward, which was a good first sign of how the business operates.
The international dimension was another big attraction. It gave me the opportunity to combine my recruitment experience with my interest in languages and different cultures, while working across France, UK and Poland
And then there was the purpose behind the business, its values and the sense of momentum. I liked the idea of working in a sector connected to animal wellbeing, while joining a company that was clearly growing and evolving. Knowing that, in my own way, I can contribute to something meaningful makes getting out of bed on a Monday morning a little easier!
How has your career developed since you started?
It’s been quite a whirlwind!
I joined at a time of change, with a strong focus on structuring and harmonising recruitment across the French/Polish businesses and the wider Group. One of the first challenges was finding my place as a link between the French entities and the UK Group, while building relationships with managers and understanding the local context.
Six months in, I’ve had the opportunity to broaden my scope, take on more strategic recruitment topics and become a trusted partner for many of our managers. We’ve already delivered some great hires together, and I really enjoy being able to contribute to growing teams and bringing in the right people to support the business.
A big part of that progress is down to the people around me, and particularly my manager, who has given me both the support and the trust to take on these challenges. I feel settled and fulfilled in my role today, and there is still a lot left to build.
How would you describe the team and INSPIRED culture?
I’d describe the culture as collaborative, supportive and very action-oriented. Things move quickly, which can be challenging at times, but there’s a real sense of people working together, alongside a strong focus on performance, progress and getting things done.
I really enjoy the mix of French and British ways of working. It brings different perspectives to the table, and ideas are genuinely encouraged when they can help move things forward. I also appreciate that you can challenge constructively, whatever your role or level of seniority.
“We Win Together” is probably the value that resonates most with me, whether we’re working on recruitment, group projects or simply helping each other out. You’re encouraged to step up, but you also feel supported when you do.
I also find it inspiring to see so many women in leadership positions across the business, it really is inspiring!
What do you enjoy most about working at INSPIRED?
Definitely the international environment and the people.
There’s something really motivating about working with colleagues who are genuinely passionate about what they do, and knowing that your work contributes to something much bigger than your own role. And, of course, having dogs around the office adds a little extra happiness to the working day!
I also really enjoy being part of the French business at a stage where so much is still being built. It feels like I joined at the right time. I can already imagine looking back in a few years at where we started, and feeling proud of what we helped create together.
There’s also a strong sense of recognition. Whether it’s in a team meeting, a quick message or an informal conversation, people take the time to acknowledge good work, and that makes a real difference.
More generally, I like that doing a good job opens the door to new challenges. When you show what you can do, people trust you with more, which makes the journey both motivating and rewarding.
What would you say to someone thinking about joining us?
If you’re curious, motivated and comfortable stepping outside your comfort zone, you’ll probably enjoy it here.
INSPIRED is a fast-paced environment where you’re encouraged to learn, take ownership and bring your experience to the table. There are real opportunities to develop and grow, especially if you’re ready to get involved and embrace the challenges along the way.
And if you want to contribute to a growing international business and happen to love animals too… then welcome!
How easy is it to integrate with the wider team when you’re based in France and your People team colleagues are based in the UK?
It’s actually pretty natural.
We have regular video calls, but we also make time for more informal conversations, which helps build relationships rather than simply working through a list of topics together.
In my case, spending my first week with the team in Thirsk made a huge difference. It gave me the chance to meet everyone face-to-face from the start and understand the wider People team and how we work together.
We also try to meet in person every quarter, which is a great way to maintain those connections and make the distance feel much smaller.
Anything else that you’d like to say about working at INSPIRED?
I’m genuinely happy to have joined this journey (and, perhaps unusually these days, I can already see myself building a long-term career here) !
INSPIRED is still evolving, particularly in France, and that’s what makes it exciting. There’s a real sense of momentum and ambition, with plenty still to build.
I’m looking forward to seeing where we are in a few years’ time, and hopefully being able to say, “I remember when we were just getting started.”
